From Amusement Park to Residential Gem

Between 1906 and 1913, Lake Cliff was the site of an ambitious and grand amusement park that was said to rival Coney Island. Known as Lake Cliff Park, the 44-acre destination featured a 2,500-seat theater, an 18,000-square-foot roller rink, a roller coaster, mechanical swings, water rides, and even a Japanese village. Patrons arrived via streetcar and were greeted by dazzling electrical lights—a marvel at the time. Though the park closed in 1913 due to financial pressures and shifting public interest, it laid the groundwork for the area’s residential development.
